Um die Pandemie für den Rest des Jahres unter Kontrolle zu behalten, will der Bundesrat weitere Personen für Impfungen gewinnen und die Massentests an Schulen fortsetzen. economiesuisse unterstützt dieses Vorgehen, das eine weitere Ansteckungswelle effizient unterbinden sollte. Entscheidend ist nun, dass die Kantone entsprechende Massnahmen rasch implementieren und die regelmässigen Tests auf Spitäler, Alters- und Pflegeheime ausweiten.

Die Erfahrungen aus dem vergangenen Jahr geben zur Befürchtung Anlass, dass im Herbst eine erneute Covid-Ansteckungswelle über die Schweiz hereinbrechen könnte. Angesichts kühlerer Temperaturen und neuer, ansteckenderer Virus-Mutationen ist diese Gefahr nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Die Schweiz ist im Gegensatz zu 2020 aber weit besser auf die Situation vorbereitet. Davon zeugt auch der Plan, den der Bundesrat heute für die Pandemiebekämpfung im Herbst präsentiert hat.

Da mittlerweile ausreichend Impfstoff für die gesamte Bevölkerung vorhanden ist, liegt der Fokus nun auf der Überzeugungsarbeit unter den noch nicht Geimpften. Zu dieser Gruppe zählen insbesondere Kinder und Jugendliche, Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund und impfskeptische und zögerliche Personen. Aus Sicht von economiesuisse sind nun vor allem die Kantone gefordert, Überzeugungsarbeit zu leisten und möglichst niederschwellige Impfangebote zu schaffen. Ausserdem empfiehlt der Bundesrat richtigerweise, für die Gruppe der Ungeimpften das repetitive Testen beizubehalten. Dies gilt insbesondere für die Schulen: Die Erfahrungen aus England zeigen, dass sich eine neue Virusvariante sehr rasch in der Bevölkerung verbreitet, wenn sie über infizierte Schulkinder in die Haushalte gelangt. Diese Tests haben auch den entscheidenden Vorteil, dass damit das Verhängen von Quarantänen für ganze Schulhäuser vermieden werden kann – was arbeitstätige Eltern enorm entlastet. Parallel sollten auch das Personal und die Patienten in Spitälern, Alters- und Pflegeheimen getestet werden, um geschwächte Personen zusätzlich zu schützen.

economiesuisse ist zuversichtlich, dass die heutigen Entscheide des Bundesrats dazu beitragen, den kommenden Herbst und Winter ohne erneute Einschränkungen für wirtschaftliche Tätigkeiten zu überstehen. Voraussetzung ist allerdings eine konsequente Umsetzung der Massnahmen in allen Regionen des Landes.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
