Die Strompreise in Winterthur sind dieses Jahr spürbar angestiegen. Im Fokus dieser Entwicklung steht nicht nur der finanzielle Aspekt für die Verbraucher, sondern auch die Frage nach der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Stadt im Hinblick auf die Standortattraktivität. Dieser Beitrag wirft einen genaueren Blick auf den Vergleich der Strompreise zwischen den Elektrizitätswerken der Stadt Zürich (EWZ) und den Stadtwerken Winterthur.

**Wie setzen sich die Strompreise überhaupt zusammen? **

Die Grundversorgung deckt Haushalte und Firmen mit einem jährlichen Stromverbrauch von unter 100 MWh. Der Stromlieferant kann nicht frei gewählt werden; stattdessen erfolgt die Versorgung durch den lokalen Stromproduzenten. Der Strompreis setzt sich aus vier Komponenten zusammen. Erstens, dem Energietarif, der den Preis für den gelieferten Strom darstellt. Zweitens, der Netznutzungstarif, der die Kosten für die Nutzung des Übertragungs- und Verteilnetzes repräsentiert. Ab 2024 gibt es zudem einen Zuschlag für die Winterreserve, der die Kosten für Notfallmassnahmen zur Sicherung der Stromversorgung im Winter umfasst. Drittens fallen Abgaben an Kantone und Gemeinden an. Schliesslich gibt es einen Netzzuschlag zur Förderung erneuerbarer Energien.

 

**Warum steigen die Strompreise in Winterthur?  
**Die Erhöhung der Strompreise in Winterthur kann auf verschiedene Faktoren zurückgeführt werden. Steigende Kosten für die Energieerzeugung, Netzausbau und -wartung sowie staatliche Abgaben sind nur einige der Faktoren, die zu dieser Entwicklung beitragen. Die Herausforderungen des Klimawandels und die verstärkte Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien können ebenfalls eine Rolle spielen.

**Attraktive Strompreise als Mittel der Standortattraktivität bzw. Standortförderung:  
**Attraktive Strompreise können ein entscheidender Faktor für die Standortwahl von Unternehmen und Privatpersonen sein. Niedrige Energiekosten tragen zur Wettbewerbsfähigkeit einer Region bei und ziehen potenzielle Investoren an. Winterthur muss daher aktiv daran arbeiten, die Strompreise auf einem wettbewerbsfähigen Niveau zu halten, um die Attraktivität der Stadt als Wirtschaftsstandort zu stärken.

**Ein Vergleich mit den EWZ-Tarifen:  
**Ein aktueller Bericht des [Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF)](https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/strompreise-schweiz-2024-so-stark-steigen-die-strompreise-in-ihrer-gemeinde) wirft ein alarmierendes Licht auf die Strompreise in Winterthur. Laut den neuesten Zahlen sind die Preise für einen durchschnittlichen Haushalt in der Gemeinde Winterthur um beeindruckende 29% auf 34.67 Rp./kWh gestiegen. Im Vergleich dazu verzeichnet die Stadt Zürich einen Anstieg von lediglich 11%, wobei die Energiepreise bei 21.41 Rp./kWh liegen. Diese Zahlen werfen nicht nur Fragen zur finanziellen Belastung der Verbraucher auf, sondern regen auch zu Überlegungen über die Gründe für diesen drastischen Unterschied an.

**Herausforderungen für die Stadtwerke Winterthur:  
**Die Abhängigkeit von externen Lieferanten stellt die Stadtwerke Winterthur vor Herausforderungen. Schwankende Preise auf dem Energiemarkt können zu unvorhersehbaren Kosten führen, die letztendlich auf die Verbraucher abgewälzt werden. Durch die "Energie"-Krise ist beispielsweise der Preis für den eingekauften Strom deutlich höher als der für selbst produzierte Energie geworden. Dies könnte die Förderung erneuerbarer Energien, die Optimierung von Energieeffizienzmassnahmen und die Anpassung der staatlichen Abgaben umfassen. Transparenz in Bezug auf die Preisbildung und die Kommunikation von Massnahmen zur Kostenkontrolle sind ebenfalls entscheidend, um das Verständnis der Bevölkerung zu fördern.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
