Die Schweizer Bevölkerung profitiert von der erfolgreichen Steuerpolitik unseres Landes. Die Steuern für den Mittelstand sind moderat, der Konsum wird vergleichsweise tief besteuert und die vielen innovativen Unternehmen schaffen attraktive und zukunftsfähige Ausbildungs- und Arbeitsplätze. Die Folge davon ist, dass die Kaufkraft der Schweizer Bevölkerung international ihresgleichen sucht.

Auch dank einer erfolgreichen Steuerpolitik zählt unser Land heute zu den weltweit führenden Unternehmensstandorten und erzielt stark steigende Einnahmen aus Firmensteuern. Die Bevölkerung profitiert gleich mehrfach davon. Erstens ermöglichen hohe Steuerzahlungen der Firmen die Steuerentlastung privater Haushalte. Die Steuern für den Mittelstand sind in der Schweiz moderat. Insbesondere für Familien wurde die Steuerbelastung wiederholt gesenkt. Auch bei der Mehrwertsteuer werden Privathaushalte in der Schweiz vergleichsweise tief belastet. Zweitens tätigen die vielen innovativen Unternehmen in der Schweiz hohe Investitionen in unseren Bildungs- und Forschungsstandort. Das schafft attraktive, zukunftsfähige Arbeits- und Ausbildungsplätze. Die Folge davon ist drittens, dass die Kaufkraft der Schweizer Bevölkerung international ihresgleichen sucht. Die Löhne in unserem Land sind nicht nur hoch, die Einkommen sind auch sehr gleichmässig verteilt. Was in der Schweiz an Wohlstand geschaffen wird, kommt grösstenteils den Arbeitnehmenden zugute. Das äussert sich in einer hohen Zufriedenheit der Bevölkerung mit ihrer Arbeit und ihrem Einkommen. Dem Schweizer Unternehmensstandort gilt es deshalb Sorge zu tragen, insbesondere auch im Bereich der Steuern. Steuern sind nicht alles – aber wie in diesem Beitrag aufgezeigt wird, profitieren wir alle von einer attraktiven, erfolgreichen Steuerpolitik.

#### Position economiesuisse

Die Gründe für den wirtschaftlichen Erfolg der Schweiz sind vielfältig. Ein wichtiges Element sind attraktive Steuern.

- Das gute Steuerklima macht die Schweiz für international tätige Unternehmen attraktiv, von hier aus können sie erfolgreich die Weltmärkte bedienen.
- Massvolle Steuern belassen den Unternehmen die Mittel für Zukunftsprojekte. Hohe Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung lohnen sich.

Der attraktive Steuerstandort bringt der Bevölkerung eine Reihe konkreter Vorteile.

- Sinkende Einkommenssteuern, besonders für Familien, und eine vergleichsweise tiefe steuerliche Belastung des Konsums über die Mehrwertsteuer. Für den Staat geht die Rechnung dank hoher und steigender Steuerbeiträge der Firmen auf.
- Zukunftsfähige Arbeits- und Ausbildungsplätze. Auch dank einer Firmenbesteuerung, die Forschung und Entwicklung begünstigt, ist die Schweizer Wirtschaft Weltmeisterin auf dem Gebiet der Innovation. Das sorgt für viele hochproduktive Arbeitsplätze.
- Hohe Löhne für den Mittelstand. Die hohe Produktivität der Schweizer Wirtschaft ermöglicht es den Firmen, hohe Löhne zu bezahlen. Im weltweiten Vergleich ist das Lohnniveau in der Schweiz ausserordentlich hoch. Breite Bevölkerungskreise profitieren von dem so erzeugten Wohlstand.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
