**Den Schweizer Wirtschaftsdiplomaten ist ein aussergewöhnlicher Durchbruch gelungen: Unter ihrer Führung haben Indonesien und die EFTA-Staaten in Bali die langjährigen Verhandlungen über ein Freihandelsabkommen erfolgreich abschliessen können. Das eidgenössische Departement für Wirtschaft, Bildung und Forschung (WBF) teilt mit, dass das Abkommen Schweizer Firmen den Zugang zum indonesischen Markt mit seinen 260 Millionen Konsumentinnen und Konsumenten stark vereinfachen wird. So sollen mittelfristig 98 Prozent aller Schweizer Güter von Zöllen befreit werden – davon würden also praktisch alle profitieren: vom Käseproduzenten über den Uhrenhersteller bis hin zum Maschinenbauer. Auch Dienstleistungen sollen Schweizer Unternehmen künftig einfacher erbringen können, wenn zum Beispiel Schweizer Ingenieure Maschinen in Indonesien unterhalten. Das Abkommen dürfte ein grosser Wettbewerbsvorteil für die hiesige Exportindustrie werden, da es sie gegenüber ihren Konkurrenten aus den EU oder den USA in Indonesien besserstellt. Denn mit diesen Partnern hat Indonesien noch kein Abkommen abgeschlossen.

Im Gegenzug öffnet sich die Schweiz ein Stück weit für indonesisches Palmöl mit Zollrabatten von 20 bis 40 Prozent. Allerdings nur unter Auflagen, da das Freihandelsabkommen auch Nachhaltigkeitsbestimmungen enthält. Noch liegt der Text nicht vor, somit ist eine abschliessende Beurteilung des Abkommens noch nicht möglich. Aber Informationen aus dem Kreis der Verhandlungsführer legen nahe, dass das Abkommen auch dem für die innovative Schweizer Wirtschaft immens wichtigen Schutz des geistigen Eigentums Rechnung trägt. Die Schweiz plant, das Abkommen Ende Jahr zu unterzeichnen. Danach muss es in beiden Ländern ratifiziert werden, bevor es in Kraft treten kann.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
