**Im Rahmen der Cluster-Initiative wurde Peter Anderegg seitens HAW als Cluster Manager für den Bereich Smart Machines nominiert. Die Initianten wollen Kräfte bündeln und für Unternehmen sowie Startups ein attraktives Umfeld schaffen. Durch Wissenstransfer zwischen Unternehmen und Hochschulen sollen bestehende Kompetenzen und Stärken genutzt werden. Peter Anderegg skizziert im folgenden Interview die Stossrichtung des weiteren Vorgehens.**

*Weshalb braucht es in Winterthur die Cluster-Initiative Smart Machines?*

 

Die Region Winterthur hat in den letzten 50 Jahren einen beispiellosen Aderlass erfahren von Unternehmen aus Industrie, Maschinenbau und Produktion. Das begann mit der Auflösung der Gebrüder Sulzer und mit der Schliessung der SLM bis jüngst mit dem Wegzug von DMGMori, Wärtsilä (ehemals Sulzer Diesel) und der Schliessung der letzten lokalen Produktionsabteilung der Rieter Maschinenfabrik. Die Grossindustrie wird wohl nicht mehr zurückkehren.

 

Was wir mit unserer [Cluster-Initiative Smart Machines](https://www.haw.ch/smart-machines) bezwecken, ist die Stärkung der Unternehmen aus Anlagen- und Maschinenbau, welche nach wie vor und erfolgreich aus der Region Winterthur operieren. Die Anforderungen bezüglich Digitalisierung – was im Maschinenbau mit „smart“ betitelt werden kann – sind hoch und umfangreich, die Entwicklungen sind langfristig, aber dennoch dringend.

 

*Wie gehen Sie vor?*

 

Wir haben erst einmal unsere Konzepte der Cluster-Initiative intern diskutiert und ein Mission-Statement entworfen. Dieses haben wir mit ausgewählten Unternehmen aus Maschinenbau, Sensorik und IT in der Region abgeglichen. Mit den Bedürfnissen und Anforderungen der Unternehmen sind wir nun mit der ZHAW in Verbindung, da dort ausgezeichnete Kompetenzen bereit stehen.  In der Folge werden wir bedarfsgerecht Unternehmen aus der Region zusammenbringen und/oder mit den richtigen und kompetenten Instituten an der ZHAW verbinden. Immer mit der Zielsetzung, konkrete R&D-Projekte zum Thema Smart Machines ins Leben zu rufen.

 

*Die HAW ruft die Öffentlichkeit dazu auf, sich aktiv zu beteiligen. Wen wollen Sie ansprechen?*

 

Wir suchen den Kontakt zu den Experten der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilungen von Unternehmen, zu den Dozenten und Forschern der einschlägigen Hochschulinstitute aber auch den Kontakt zu Praktikern und spezifischem Know How. 

 

*Wie können sich Interessierte beteiligen/informieren?*

 

Die HAW kommuniziert bereits heute über Ihre Webseite und Newsletter intensiv mit den für Verbandsthemen zuständigen Ansprechpartnern der Mitgliedsfirmen. Wir sind darauf angewiesen, dass die Smart Machines-Themen an die Fachleute in den Firmen weitergeleitet werden.

 

Wir möchten vermehrt einen aktiven fachlichen Austausch mit den Experten anstreben. Um dies tun zu können, müssen wir diese kennen und sollten diese von unserer Initiative Kenntnis haben. Darauf aufbauend streben wir an, lokal einen physischen Austausch im Rahmen von Roundtables zu organisieren. Die Erfahrung zeigt, dass dies vermutlich kleinere Gruppen sein werden, in welchen zuerst gegenseitig Vertrauen aufzubauen ist, bevor über allenfalls sensitive Themen gesprochen werden kann.

 

Am 3.11.2020 werden wir ferner eine Fach-Veranstaltung durchführen.

 

*Sie haben öffentlich kommuniziert, dass Sie die lokale Wertschöpfung steigern wollen. Reichen die eben formulierten Massnahmen hierfür aus?*

 

Die geschilderten Massnahmen sind v.a. Mittel zum Zweck. Letzten Endes geht es darum, konkrete Projekte anzustossen. Wertschöpfung entsteht dann, wenn relevante Aufgabenstellungen durch Bündelung der Kompetenzen z.B. zwischen Wirtschaft und Hochschule oder zwischen Startups und etablierten Unternehmen gelöst werden können und so für die Beteiligten ein quantifizierbarer Nutzen entsteht. Wünschbar ist auch, wenn durch die Bündelung der Kräfte Fördermittel in unsere Wirtschaftsregion fliessen können. Es wäre doch wunderbar, wenn z.B. zwei lokale Unternehmen ein gemeinsames Innosuisse-Projekt verfolgen würden.

 

*Können Sie bereits erste Erfolge ausweisen?*

 

Mit unseren Vorarbeiten haben wir einige lokale Unternehmen sensibilisieren und begeistern können. Auf der Seite der Hochschulen haben wir primär mit der ZHAW Verbindungen zu sachdienlichen Instituten und Stellen erstellt. Darüber hinaus ist es uns gelungen ein reinrassiges „Smart Machines“ F&E Projekt mit einem Industriepartner aus der Region Winterthur und dem Institut for Computational Physics ICP an der ZHAW zu starten. N.B. mit finanzieller Unterstützung einer Stiftung!

 

*Wer kann sich an der Initiative wie beteiligen?*

 

Im Fokus stehen die Mitglieder der Initianten [HAW](https://www.haw.ch/de/), [TPW](https://tpw.ch) sowie [HoW](https://houseofwinterthur.ch/de/). Für Smart Machines sprechen wir insbesondere die Unternehmen und Kompetenzzentren aus Anlagen- und Maschinenbau der Region an. Allerdings sind wir auch offen für Aussenstehende. Durch eine intensive Zusammenarbeit können auch neue Netzwerke entstehen. U.E. werden die verbandseigenen und auch die lokalen Netzwerke gegenseitig gestärkt. Dies dürfte auch zu neuen Mitgliedschaften bei diesen Organisationen führen.

 

In diesem Sinne lade ich die die Verantwortlichen der Entwicklungsabteilungen und Geschäftsentwicklungen aber auch IT-Spezialisten ein, sich aktiv am Dialog zu beteiligen und sich noch heute  für den [Cluster-Newsletter](https://share.hsforms.com/1f8ytT6aST3CYf0hgacoSQw2lsr2) einzuschreiben.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
