Die Schweiz hat sich zum Netto-Null-Ziel bekannt. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, müssen Unternehmen auch ihre Lieferketten dekarbonisieren. Diese Herausforderung ist gross, komplex und stellt Firmen vor schwierige Aufgaben. Hier setzt die Energie-Agentur der Wirtschaft (EnAW) mit einem neuen Modell an, das den Ressourcenverbrauch von Unternehmen untersucht und konkrete Handlungsmöglichkeiten zur Reduktion aufzeigt.

Bis zu 90 Prozent der Emissionen eines Unternehmens fallen entlang dessen Wertschöpfungskette an. Von der Beschaffung von Rohmaterialien über die Produktion und Montage bis hin zum Versand und der Installation tragen verschiedene Phasen zur Gesamtemission eines Produktes bei. Die Bilanzierung dieser Emissionen ist jedoch mit grossen Herausforderungen verbunden, da die Lieferketten komplex sind. Beispielsweise benötigt ein Hersteller genaue Emissionsdaten von allen seinen Zulieferern, die mitunter in vielen verschiedenen Ländern ansässig sind. Diese Komplexität erhöht die Hürden, um Massnahmen zu ergreifen.

Dabei wäre das Potential an möglichen Einsparungen riesig. Die EnAW schafft hier Abhilfe. Sie zeigt mit ihrem neuen Beratungsangebot zur Ressourceneffizienz die jeweiligen Energie- und Materialflüsse sowohl im Unternehmen als auch über den Lebensweg der Produkte auf und schlägt konkrete Handlungsmöglichkeiten zur Produkt- und Prozessverbesserung vor.

## Emissionseinsparungen und Kreislaufwirtschaft gehen Hand in Hand

Um die Emissionen gesamthaft zu reduzieren sind Massnahmen über die klassischen Energieeffizienz-Ansätze hinaus gefragt. Die Kreislaufwirtschaftsprinzipien können dazu beitragen, den Verbrauch von Rohstoffen und die Menge an Abfall und Emissionen zu senken. Oft fehlt es innerhalb der Unternehmen an Wissen und Kompetenzen, um Emissionen abzuschätzen und branchen- oder firmenspezifische Massnahmen zu identifizieren.

Zu den Grundsätzen zählen Vermeiden, Wiederverwenden oder Recyceln. Ein Beispiel ist die Wiederverwendung von Verpackungsmaterialien. Durch Rücknahmesysteme können Kunden leere Behälter zurückgeben, damit diese gereinigt und neu befüllt werden. Dadurch wird der Rohstoffverbrauch und die Abfallmenge deutlich verringert und gleichzeitig Emissionen eingespart.

## Mit freiwilligen Massnahmen zur Ressourceneffizienz

Das EnAW-Ressourcenmodell bietet Unternehmen die Möglichkeit, ihre Ressourcenströme besser zu verstehen, zu analysieren und entsprechend Optimierungsmassnahmen zu ergreifen. Durch die Implementierung von Best Practices und der Schaffung eines Bewusstseins für Ressourcenschonung können Unternehmen nicht nur Kosten senken, sondern auch ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit stärken und ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber Versorgungsengpässen fördern. Darüber hinaus können sich neue Geschäftsmöglichkeiten eröffnen, beispielsweise im Bereich des Recyclings und der Wiederverwertung von Produkten.

## Regulatorischen Anforderungen genügen

Unternehmen, die frühzeitig Massnahmen ergreifen, um ihre Emissionen zu reduzieren, sind zudem besser positioniert, um auf Veränderungen in der Geschäftsumgebung zu reagieren. Durch ein laufendes Monitoring und Reporting können Unternehmen ihre Daten für Anforderungen der Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation wiederverwenden und gleichzeitig internationale Offenlegungs- und Berichterstattungspflichten wie GRI oder CSRD erfüllen.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
