**72 Mitglieder und Gäste konnte HAW-Präsident Thomas Anwander am 21. Mai 2019 zur Generalversammlung begrüssen. Im Jahresbericht nahm er Stellung zur globalen und lokalen Wirtschaftssituation und betonte die Förderung des Innovationsstandortes Winterthur. Er forderte zudem die anwesenden Mitglieder auf, aktiv auf die Winterthurer Startup-Szene zuzugehen und eine Zusammenarbeit anzustreben. Dieses Jahr wurden drei neue Vorstandsmitglieder gewählt.**

2018 war für die Wirtschaft insgesamt ein gutes Jahr, viele Unternehmen konnten ihre Ertragssituation verbessern. Thomas Anwander geht auf die vielerorts herrschende Unsicherheit ein, beleuchtet die nervöse Börsensituation zum Jahresende, die politischen Risiken, wie den Handelskrieg zwischen den USA und China, den Brexit, die Spannungen im Nahen Osten und die zunehmende Konfrontation zwischen den USA und Iran. Er nimmt auch Bezug auf die aktuelle Geldpolitik der Zentralbanken und die negativen Folgen auf Wirtschaft und Vorsorgesysteme. Die Thematik zeigt auch exemplarisch, wie stark die Schweiz mit Europa verbunden ist. Darum brauchen wir ein vernünftiges Verhältnis zur EU und die bilateralen Verträge.  

Seit Greta ist das zentrale Thema in der Politik der Klimawandel, dies äussert sich in der Form von Schülerdemonstrationen, unerwarteter Wahlresultate und vor allem in einem Aktivismus der Politiker auf allen Ebenen bis zur Lokalpolitik. Der Präsident bestätigt die Wichtigkeit des Schutzes der Umwelt, fordert aber auch, dass die Diskussion nicht irrational sein und nicht nur auf den CO2-Ausstoss reduziert werden soll. Externe Kosten wie Umweltkosten müssen internalisiert werden. Wer die Umwelt stark belastet, muss dafür bezahlen. Die Co2 Abgabe ist in diesem Kontext sehr sinnvoll, zweckmässig und in der Wirtschaft erprobt. Wichtig ist, dass über Umweltabgaben keine neuen Steuern eingeführt werden. Vielleicht ist Umweltdiskussion auch eine Chance sich zu überlegen, ob zukünftig weniger das Einkommen besteuert wird, sondern der Konsum und die mit dem Konsum von Gütern und Dienstleistungen verbundene Belastung der Umwelt. Der Präsident ist überzeugt, dass neue Technologien massgebend zu einem schonenderen Umgang mit den natürlichen Ressourcen beitragen können.  

Die Förderung des Innovationsstandortes Winterthur ist der HAW ein sehr wichtiges Anliegen. Mit dem Technopark haben wir eine wichtige Institution in Winterthur, die Raum für Innovationen schafft und hilft, dass sich auch ZHAW und die lokale Wirtschaft vernetzen. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem House of Winterthur und dem Technopark wird die HAW daran arbeiten, die bestehende Clusterstrategie für den Wirtschaftsstandort zu präzisieren und dafür zu sorgen, dass alle involvierten Unternehmen einen Mehrwert davon haben und gleichzeitig für Winterthur attraktive Arbeitsplätze entstehen und ebenfalls langfristig die Steuerkraft von Winterthur gestärkt werden kann.  

Bei der Förderung von Innovationen können auch Startups eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Die HAW arbeitet deshalb auch mit dem Entrepreneurclub Winterthur (ECW) zusammen. Startup-Förderung ist auch in der Politik ein beliebtes Thema. Aus marktwirtschaftlicher Sicht soll die Stadt keine Wirtschaftspolitik betreiben, indem sie bestimmte Branchen oder Wirtschaftssektoren bevorzugt. Nicht nur Startups benötigen eine gute Infrastruktur oder weniger Vorschriften, sondern auch alteingesessene Unternehmen. Wettbewerbsfähige Gebühren und attraktive Steuern sind für alle Unternehmen wichtig. Die Initiativen des ECW sind eine Bereicherung für die Winterthurer Wirtschaft. Über den Erfolg von Jungunternehmen entscheidet letztendlich der Markt und nicht die Politik. Die Vertreter der Winterthurer Firmen können selber einen Beitrag zur Förderung der Winterthurer Startup-Szene geben: Machen Sie sich schlau, welche Startups in Winterthur bestehen oder neu entstehen, vernetzen sie sich, machen sie gemeinsame Forschungsprojekte. Die erwähnte Clusterstrategie hat auch zum Ziel, erfolgreiche Ecosysteme schaffen zu können, von denen etablierte Firmen, die Hochschule und Startups profitieren können.  

Abschliessend nimmt Thomas Anwander Stellung zur anstehenden Ersatzwahl in den Stadtrat. Er stellt in Aussicht, dass die HAW die Kandidaten und deren Standpunkte für den Wirtschaftsstandort besser kennenlernen will. Er denkt z.B. an die Parkplatzverordnung, die strategische Ausrichtung des House of Winterthur, die Steuerpolitik oder ganz generell an die Rahmenbedingungen, welche in Winterthur für alle Unternehmen inklusive Startups geschaffen werden sollen. Je nach Auslegeordnung wird die HAW eine Wahlempfehlung aussprechen.

Die ordentlichen Traktanden der GV wurden effizient behandelt. Die Tätigkeiten der drei austretenden Vorstandsmitglieder Peter Widmer, Beat Schwab und Daniel Kummer wurden gewürdigt und verdankt. Die Generalversammlung wählte als neue Mitglieder Marco Rohrer, IPG Group, Julia Bhend, Probst Partner AG und Dominik Uhlmann, Optimo Group in den Vorstand.

Mit Interesse wurde das Referat von Reto Dahinden, CEO SWICA, zum Thema "Konsens im Gesundheitswesen - eine Illusion?" verfolgt. Beim anschliessenden Apéro blieb Zeit für angeregte Gespräche.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
