Die Schweizer Wirtschaft nimmt Kenntnis vom Entscheid des Bundesrates, die Gespräche mit der Europäischen Union über das Rahmenabkommen abzubrechen. economiesuisse bedauert, dass die Beratungen zwischen Bern und Brüssel zu keinem einvernehmlichen Ergebnis geführt haben. Nun liegt es am Bundesrat, den bilateralen Weg zu stabilisieren und den Schaden zu minimieren.

Der heute vom Bundesrat kommunizierte Entscheid kommt nicht überraschend: In den vergangenen Monaten haben sich die Zeichen für einen Abbruch der Gespräche über das Rahmenabkommen zwischen Bern und Brüssel verdichtet. Der Wirtschaftsdachverband economiesuisse nimmt mit Bedauern zur Kenntnis, dass die Anstrengungen des Bundesrates zur Klärung der drei noch offenen Punkte im Rahmenabkommen erfolglos blieben.

Ein langfristiges und stabiles Verhältnis zur Europäischen Union und ihren Mitgliedstaaten bleibt für die Schweizer Wirtschaft von grösster Bedeutung. Es muss deshalb das vordringliche Ziel der Schweizer Aussenwirtschaftspolitik bleiben, die Vorteile des bilateralen Wegs zu erhalten. Dazu braucht es nach dem Scheitern des Rahmenabkommens in der ersten Phase die Stabilisierung der bestehenden Abkommen und eine Minimierung des Schadens.

Wo die Erosion bilateraler Abkommen zu absehbaren Nachteilen für den Wirtschaftsstandort führt, braucht es gezielte Massnahmen zur Abfederung der Schäden. Je grösser der erwartete Schaden für den Wirtschaftsstandort ist, desto umfassender sollten die Reformen zur nachhaltigen Verbesserung der internationalen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Schweiz ausfallen. Die Schweizer Wirtschaft ist selbstverständlich bereit, an diesen Reformen und an den notwendigen Massnahmen mitzuarbeiten.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
