Der Swiss Managers Survey 2023 liefert interessante Erkenntnisse über die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und die damit verbundene Ungewissheit in der Schweiz. Die Studie zeigt, dass die allgemeine Geschäftslage im April/Mai 2023 sehr günstig ist, insbesondere im Dienstleistungssektor. Viele Unternehmen profitieren von einer starken Nachfrage und einem positiven Geschäftsumfeld. Diese positive Entwicklung wird vor allem auf die hohe Innovationskraft und die herausragende Qualität der schweizerischen Produkte zurückgeführt, die den Unternehmen einen internationalen Wettbewerbsvorteil verschaffen.

Die übermässige Wettbewerbsfähigkeit hat auch ihre Herausforderungen. Die hohe Nachfrage nach qualifizierten Arbeitskräften führt zu einem intensiven Wettbewerb auf dem Arbeitsmarkt und erhöht den Lohndruck. Besonders kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) im verarbeitenden Gewerbe haben Schwierigkeiten, qualifiziertes Personal zu finden und zu halten. Eine problematische Entwicklung wird in der starken Abhängigkeit von der Arbeitsmigration gesehen, da die Schweizer Wirtschaft zu einem grossen Teil auf die Zuwanderung von Arbeitskräften angewiesen ist.

Ein weiteres Thema, das in der Umfrage diskutiert wird, ist die Fusion der beiden Schweizer Banken Credit Suisse und UBS. Die Meinungen der Manager:innen darüber sind geteilt. Weniger als 15% der Befragten erwarten einen negativen Einfluss auf ihr eigenes Unternehmen durch die Fusion. Allerdings sehen knapp 20% der Manager:innen von Firmen mit Hauptsitz im Kanton Zürich den Zusammenschluss als negativ an. Grössere Unternehmen mit mehr Mitarbeitenden sind ebenfalls skeptischer gegenüber der Fusion.

Lieferkettenrisiken werden als die grösste Herausforderung für Unternehmen in der Schweiz identifiziert. Unvorhergesehene Ereignisse wie Naturkatastrophen, politische Unsicherheiten oder globale Pandemien können die Lieferketten stören und Unternehmen stark beeinträchtigen. Besonders Unternehmen im Industriesektor sind von diesen Risiken betroffen. Zusätzlich zu den Lieferkettenrisiken werden auch finanzielle Risiken wie Wechselkurs-schwankungen, Inflation oder steigende Zinssätze als erhebliche Bedrohungen wahrgenommen. Die Unsicherheit auf den Märkten und der Zugang zu neuen Märkten stellen ebenfalls eine grosse Herausforderung dar.

Um diese Risiken zu mindern, setzen Unternehmen verschiedene Strategien ein. Der Aufbau von Lagerbeständen erweist sich als die erfolgreichste Strategie zur Minderung von Lieferkettenrisiken. Indem Unternehmen einen ausreichenden Vorrat an Materialien und Produkten halten, können sie Störungen in der Lieferkette besser bewältigen. Darüber hinaus ist die Diversifizierung der Lieferketten von entscheidender Bedeutung. Unternehmen neigen dazu, geografisch nahe gelegene Standorte mit günstigen Verbindungen zur Schweiz zu bevorzugen, um die Risiken zu minimieren.

Auch die Minderung von Marktzugangsrisiken ist ein wichtiges Thema für Unternehmen. Die Diversifizierung des Kundenstamms und die Konzentration auf nahegelegene Länder sind bewährte Strategien, um den Zugang zu neuen Märkten zu erleichtern und die Abhängigkeit von bestimmten Märkten zu verringern. Darüber hinaus setzen Unternehmen auf die Konzentration auf den Inlandsmarkt und die Diversifizierung ihrer Geschäftsbereiche, um finanzielle Risiken zu mindern. Dadurch können sie auf lokale Marktbedingungen reagieren und ihre Einnahmequellen breiter aufstellen.

Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt, der in der Umfrage beleuchtet wird, ist die Bedeutung von Cybersicherheit. Angesichts der zunehmenden Digitalisierung und Vernetzung der Geschäftsprozesse ist die Sicherheit von Daten und Systemen von grösster Bedeutung. Unternehmen werden ermutigt, umfassende Sicherheitspolitiken zu entwickeln und mehrschichtige Sicherheitsmassnahmen zu implementieren, um sich vor Cyberangriffen und Datenschutzverletzungen zu schützen.

Zusammenfassend zeigt der Swiss Managers Survey 2023, dass die Schweizer Unternehmen im internationalen Wettbewerb gut positioniert sind, aber dennoch vor Herausforderungen stehen. Der Fachkräftemangel, die Bewältigung von Lieferkettenrisiken und die Anpassung an finanzielle und Marktzugangsrisiken sind zentrale Themen, mit denen sich Unternehmen auseinandersetzen müssen. Um erfolgreich zu sein, sollten Unternehmen Strategien zur Risikominderung implementieren und sich auf eine zunehmend vernetzte und unsichere Geschäftsumgebung vorbereiten.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
