Die traditionelle Herbstversammlung der HAW fand dieses Jahr im Home of Innovation (HoI) in Winterthur-Töss statt. Der Abend war geprägt durch angeregte Diskussionen zwischen den HAW-Mitgliedern und dem Austausch mit den Gründern lokaler Start-ups. Als Abschluss konnte eine Premiere gefeiert werden – erstmals wurde die beste Abschlussarbeit zum Thema Smart Machines von der HAW zusammen mit der Johann Jacob Rieter-Stiftung (JJR) mit 10'000 CHF belohnt.

#### Rahmenbedingungen, die Innovation fördern

Thomas Anwander, Präsident der HAW, zeigte sich erfreut, die rund 60 Gäste an diesem Abend wieder in Person begrüssen zu dürfen. Während die letztjährige Herbstversammlung virtuell durchgeführt werden musste, durften sich die Mitglieder dieses Mal dank Zertifikatspflicht ohne Einschränkungen austauschen. Passend zum Veranstaltungsort sprach Anwander über die Wichtigkeit der Technologie und Innovation, um die angestrebte Energiewende zu realisieren. «Eine CO2-neutrale Gesellschaft erreichen wir nicht ausschliesslich durch Vorschriften und Verbote – dazu braucht es neue Technologien und Rahmenbedingungen, die Innovation fördern.» Speziell der gegenseitige Austausch von Start-ups mit bestehenden Unternehmen und Ausbildungseinrichtungen führe immer wieder zu fruchtbaren Ergebnissen, so Anwander.

Zu den attraktiven Rahmenbedingungen für Innovation hat auch Raphael Tobler, Jungunternehmer und Präsident des Entrepreneur-Clubs Winterthur beigetragen. Zusammen mit 14 weiteren Unterstützern hat er vor zwei Jahren das HoI ins Leben gerufen, wo mittlerweile 19 Start-ups und 22 Coworker eingemietet sind. Mit den attraktiven Angeboten für Start-ups konnte man leider noch keine grossen ETH-Ableger nach Winterthur holen, dafür reduzierte sich die Zahl an Start-ups, die Winterthur nach der Gründung den Rücken zukehrten, merklich. Tobler selber ist mit seinem Start-up «eduwo» ebenfalls Mieter im HoI und beschäftigt bereits acht Personen.   
Das Thema Arbeitsplätze liegt dem ebenfalls politisch engagierten Gründer auch am Herzen. «Ich muss den Leuten oft ins Bewusstsein rufen, dass Arbeitsplätze nicht einfach vom Himmel fallen. Dasselbe gilt für den Wohlstand in der Schweiz – dafür sind Jobs verantwortlich.»

Einen hervorragenden Job leistete Chris Beyer, dessen Arbeit im Bereich Smart Machines von der HAW und der JJR-Stiftung mit 10'000 CHF prämiert wurde. Der Preis für studentische Arbeiten ist dabei Bestandteil der privaten Winterthurer [Cluster-Initiative](https://www.haw.ch/clusterstrategie), die von HAW, Technopark Winterthur und House of Winterthur lanciert wurde.

#### Lokale Start-ups

Da der Abend im Zeichen der Innovation stand, wurde die Gelegenheit genutzt, um den Gästen drei innovative Startups aus Winterthur zu präsentieren.

Michael Kubli stellte [Kinastic](https://www.kinastic.com/) vor, ein virtueller Gesundheitscoach, der massgeschneiderte Programme für Unternehmen und Mitarbeiter:innen zusammenstellt. Beeindruckend war insbesondre, wie das Start-up mit der COVID-Herausforderung umging. Vor der Pandemie fokussierte sich Kinastic auf den Fitnessbereich und zählte rund 22'000 Nutzer:innen. Durch die bundesrätliche Schliessung der Fitnesscenter ging die ursprüngliche Zielgruppe verloren, doch die Gründer erfassten die Gunst der Stunde und expandierten erfolgreich ins betriebliche Gesundheitsmanagement.

Martin Rupf folgte Kubli und präsentierte das Start-up [OXNI](https://oxni.ch/), das auf dem Markt der Automatisierungs- und Antriebstechnik tätig ist. Die Kernkompetenz des Start-ups liegt darin, die Welt der Logistik und die des Maschinenbaus miteinander zu verbinden. «Es gibt kaum eine Bewegung in einer Maschine, die sich nicht optimieren lässt», so Rupf. Als Anschauungsbeispiel brachte er deshalb ein «smartes» Kabel mit, das selber erkennt, wenn es ersetzt werden muss.

Jeremias Wehrli betrat das Podium als Letzter und präsentierte [Cyltronic](https://www.cyltronic.ch/). Das Unternehmen stellt den weltweit einzigen Elektrozylinder her, der die weit verbreiteten normbasierten ISO-Pneumatikzylinder 1:1 ersetzen kann. Der Zylinder besticht dabei durch seine Effizienz und leistet gleichzeitig einen Beitrag zur Reduktion des CO2 Ausstosses. Im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Pneumatikzylindern, die für 1.5% des Schweizer Stromverbrauchs verantwortlich sind, lässt sich der Energieverbrauch durch die Elektrozylinder um über 90% reduzieren.

#### Angeregte Diskussionen

Auch wenn an diesem Abend Einigkeit über die Wichtigkeit von Innovation und attraktive Rahmenbedingungen herrscht, kamen doch Vertreter:innen aus sehr unterschiedlichen Bereichen zusammen. Zum einen die Mitglieder der HAW aus Wirtschaft und Industrie, die allesamt auf eine erfolgreiche Firmengeschichte zurückblicken dürfen. Zum anderen die Gründer verschiedener Start-ups und Absolventen der ZHAW, HSLU und ETH, die Tatendrang und erfolgversprechende Ideen mitbrachten. Umso schöner war es deshalb zu sehen, dass im Anschluss an die spannenden Präsentationen ein echter Dialog zwischen den Gruppen stattfand. Beim Apéro mischten sich die jungen Absolventen und Start-up-Referenten unter die HAW-Mitglieder und waren begehrte Diskussionspartner, einige HAW Mitglieder zeigten sich sogar an einer Zusammenarbeit interessiert. Um es in den Worten von Thomas Anwander zu formulieren: «Hilfreich für Innovationen und Start-Ups ist der gegenseitige Austausch mit bestehenden Unternehmen. Es braucht eine kritische Masse, die sich gegenseitig befruchtet und weitertreibt.» Dies gelang an dieser Herbstversammlung sehr gut.

#### Über uns

Die Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW ist 1992 aus der Fusion der Kaufmännischen Gesellschaft Handelskammer Winterthur und dem Arbeitgeberverband Winterthur entstanden. Ihre Wurzeln gehen bis ins Jahr 1801 zurück. Die HAW prägte die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Stadt Winterthur und trägt bis heute dazu bei, dass Winterthur ein Wirtschaftsstandort mit gut ausgebauter Infrastruktur ist.
